Pres. Buhari and Saraki in close door meeting, makes consensus on 2017 budget


President of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki, after a close-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday. 
On the meeting, they revealed that the 2017 Appropriation Bill would be presented to the National Assembly within the next 10 days. The duo
had met inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja, as part of preparation towards the presentation of the 2017 Appropriation Bill to the National Assembly.
The Senate President who spoke to reporters after the meeting disclosed that the document would be presented within the next 10 days, adding that hopefully, with the level of works that had gone into the preparation that the budget would be approved by the National Assembly earlier than that of previous ones.

“I came for consultation with the President on a number of national issues. We are all getting towards the end of the year, getting the budget. Just regular consultation, we are ready, once the document comes to us, we are ready. I think this time around, a lot of works have taken place behind the scene. “There is a lot more collaboration and you will see the result of that in the timeframe it will take after the President will have presented it,” Saraki said.
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) had on Wednesday sanctioned the document, leaving it in the hand of the President to present to the National Assembly.
